Who will fit the technology for me?

A lot of Mi equipment can be simply installed by you, a relative or a family friend.

The Helpline service will be installed by the Riverside Technical Support Officer.

How much will the technology cost me?

The cost of the tools will vary depending on what it is. It will also vary according to your needs and financial situation. If you are already in receipt of social care funded by your local authority and/or NHS, it is likely that all or some of the costs of the equipment will be met.

What is self-care?

Self-care is about you having the tools and confidence  to take control of your well-being. It’s about enabling you to become more independent and healthy, and helping you to stay well.

What happens if my technology fails?

What is the TSB?

The Technology Strategy Board www.innovateuk.org part funds Mi.

It’s role is to stimulate the UK economy by supporting business-led technology and innovation. Some of its roles include:

  • promoting, supporting and investing in technology research, development and commercialisation
  • spreading knowledge
  • bringing people together to solve problems or make new advances
  • advising the Government on how to remove barriers to innovation and accelerate the use of new technologies

What is Assistive Technology?

Do I need permission to fit the equipment?

If you live in social or private rented housing, it is advised that they are made aware of any physical adaptations to the property such as door entry systems and finger print locks.
